Please tell me I’m not the only one overwhelmed by the transition from those glorious summer months to student life… I don’t know if it’s because I have reached my third and final year of University or if I’m just having some form of breakdown but everything seems so much harder!
The five months away seem to have taken their toll.
Basic life skills have become a struggle.
In the first week back I forgot I had to fend for myself in the kitchen and that my clothes don’t just magically wash themselves. The oven was a mythical creature and having to set six alarms so I’d actually get up seemed completely necessary. It’s at times like this when I really miss my Mum.
So it’s back to budgeting, 9am lectures that become emptier and emptier after the first week, trying to balance a social life with uni work and 10p noodles.
- Save your money so you don’t end up eating like a King for a couple of weeks and living off boil in the bag rice until your loan comes in.
- Night time is for sleeping and naps are only naps if they are less than half an hour.
- The internet can be used for useful research, yes you may really need to know where Evan Peter’s second cousin lives but IMDB won’t have the answers to your essay question (unless you’re a film student).
- And text your family once in a while so they know you’re not dead, yet.
